Dark January ends, but there is light…
January 2022 was so very dark, and we remember with sorrow all those who we said goodbye to. Our good people who went to be with the Lord…
But a visit to the home of one of our orphans’ family homes brought us some encouragement, when we saw the child, coloring in his color-in book Christmas gift which the children received at the end of 2021’s school year. How the innocent, quiet creativity of a child can bring light, and even hope into an otherwise dark world.
You know, our Lord provides when we are unaware, and for things that we are unaware of. Besides subtle creative skills that are trained into the child, something as plain as a color-in book can keep a child’s mind from thinking too much about all the adult problems and worries; to be a child while he or she is still a child. There is enough time for all that as we get older, isn’t there? The New Testament has a lot to say about the innocence of a child, and about how much Jesus loves children.
“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'” – Matthew 19:14
